The nursing staff at Hospice of Murray County is available 24 hours per day 7 days per week. The hospice staff serves patients in Murray County and those within a 30 mile radius of Murray County. Our patients are located in a variety of settings such as patient’s homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals and the Our House Hospice Home. Nurses at Hospice of Murray County strive to alleviate the physical, emotional, social and spiritual discomforts of an individual who is experiencing the last phase of life due to the existence of a life limiting, progressive disease. Hospice nurses provide supportive care to the primary care giver and the family of the hospice patient. Patient care coordinators participate in the admission of a patient, assume primary responsibility for the physical care of the patient and continue to plan care with the multidisciplinary team throughout the course of the illness. Nurses possess the skills necessary to recognize spiritual and psychosocial issues and provide expertise in pain and symptom management.
